Aromatherapy case studies: Arm and Neck Mobility Mr c, a County Cricket Club captain could not bowl since the beginning of February, and it was now nearing the end of May. Everyone had said that he had neck trouble with not being able to twist his arm around for bowling; he also had terrible headaches. An osteopath, physiotherapist and acupuncturist had all been treating him since February for his neck. On my first treatment of him I found that there were tender spots on his neck, head and also in his middle back (of which he was quite surprised). After this first treatment he found that his neck was much easier. I saw him about three times a week over four weeks for about twenty minutes of reflexology each time. At first he and the physiotherapist were puzzled that I kept finding a problem spot in the middle back. The physiotherapist had a more careful look down the back and did find that there was a weakness in a disc in the middle back which was causing the headache and neck problems. Slowly he started practising bowling as he felt fit. About three weeks after I had started treatment he bowled for the first time in a match and did fantastically; the newspapers all commented on his performance. If it had not been for the reflexology the problem might never have been found and solved. Now the physiotherapist knows where to massage; rather than just concentrating on the neck he is mainly massaging the back and so far the problem has not returned.
