Essential Oils To Help Clear Vaginal Infections

Essential Oils to Help Clear Inflamed Vaginal Tissues

Chamomile German-Lavender-Yarrow-Tea Tree-Eucalyptus-Angelica

Many conditions can be helped by the use of essential oils - you may like to experiment yourself, taking care to follow the golden rules for the use of douches, or choosing one of the other methods outlined here:

Summary of methods of Use

Douches - If specified, you can douche once a day for three days each week. Always add the oils to spring water that has been warmed.

Sitz Bath - Drop formula into bath of water run to hip level sit there for at least 15 minutes.

Tampon Method - Soak tampon in a mixture of essential oil and other ingredients, as directed. Place in vagina in the morning and take out at night.

Creams - Add formula to 120ml vitamin E ointment or KY jelly.

Massage Oils - Add formula in proportion to a total of 30 drops per 30ml any vegetable oil including Soya, almond, sunflower, borage seed, evening primrose, jojoba.

Glycerine - Available from any pharmacy, glycerine makes essential oils less harmful to vaginal mucous membrane and lessens irritation. Add essential oil to glycerine before adding this mix to water.

Some Other Conditions

Here now are some formulas you may like to try for those common and persistent problems. These methods are options - you can use up to two methods at any time.

Leucorrhoea

Is a non infectious, catarrhal-type discharge from the vagina, usually caused by an over-production of dead cell, usually in a thick, white substance:

Formula Dilute Method Options

Clary-Sage 2rops In a dessertspoon Sitz Bath, daily

Juniper 2rops Glycerine Massage, daily

Red Thyme then Douche, daily

600ml water for 3 days a week only

Non-Specific Vaginitis

Gives a heavy discharge, usually white or yellow and sometimes streaked with blood. The vagina is very sore and itchy and there may be a burning sensation on urination.

Formula Dilute Method Options

Lavender 2drops In 1 dessertspoon Sitz bath, daily

Cypress 1drop glycerine Massage, daily

Hyssop 1drop then Douche, daily

For 3 days a week

Vaginalis Gardnerella

(Haemophilus bacteria) is an infection of the vaginal secretion. It is normally present in the healthy vagina but gets troublesome when the vagina becomes too alkaline, making the vagina very itchy and giving white or grey discharge.

Formula Dilute Method Options

Lavender 1 drop In 1 teaspoon vinegar Tampon, daily

Tea Tree 1drop plus ½ teaspoon lemon Douche, daily

Juice, then for 3 days a

600ml water week only

Atropic Vaginitis

Isn’t really an infection but an inflammation of the genital walls caused by a decrease in the female hormone oestrogen. This can leave the vagina exposed to infection.

Oil Method

Chamomile German 5drops Dilute in 30ml hazelnut

Lavender 5drops safflower or almond oil and use

Clary-sage 5drops at least one dessertspoon a day

Tampon or massage.

Clearly, there are a great variety of possible infections and if you have a discharge you must certainly get it diagnosed accurately. If you intend to try self-treatment with essential oils it is important that you use the absolutely pure products. I can assure you, however, that providing you follow all the directions carefully, you may find a solution here that you did not think existed.
