Focus

Being able to focus on the task ahead is often the difference between doing well and just scraping through, and gives a great sense of satisfaction. To focus is being able to direct all your attention and energy to one place, focused on the job at hand. Meditation teaches people to focus - both when doing meditation and, as a “ side “benefit, throughout their daily lives.

Focus is a great attribute, and we owe many of our inventions and creations to people’s ability to do it. In this noisy world it is difficult to find a quite place to focus the mind: neighbours play loud music, children slam doors, kittens climb up large house plants. And given all that, there is only one word to think about “selfish”.

You need to be selfish to take the phone off the hook, ignore the doorbell, send everyone away and meditate, or at least sit still for five minutes and focus the mind on what you are doing, and why. Identify the side-tracks and determine to ignore them.

The following essential oils are renowned for helping people to focus. Use them in all the usual methods, following recommended safe dosages. It’s not going to help to use aromas which already have a memory-connection because those memories will flood in, and not allow focus on the job or thought in hand. So it might be better to choose essential oils which have no previous connotations.
