Dwayne Johnson says positive test for Covid-19 is 'biggest challenge he's faced'

The 48-year-old Hollywood actor posted a lengthy video on Instagram as he addressed his 196 million followers about the problems they have faced with coronavirus.

The Fast & Furious star said that having the virus was a different prospect to having his "a** kicked in the past" while wrestling in WWE as The Rock.

He warned his fans that it was not a pleasant experience and that they were grateful to have come out of the other side of the illness "feeling strong" as many others haven't.

Speaking to the camera from his home, Dwayne started by saying: "I want to give you guys a helpful update as to what I have been going through my end for the past two-and-a-half to three weeks now."My wife Lauren, as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for Covid-19 and I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family."

Dwayne went on to describe the effects of the virus, saying: "I’ve had my a**-kicked in the past with some challenges but testing positive for Covid-19 is much different to overcoming nasty injuries, being evicted or being broke, which I have been more than a few times."

He added that not being in control of his family's destiny wore heavy on him.

Dwayne continued: "The reason why I feel different is that my number one priority is to always protect my family and I think I can speak for us all that it is our number one priority."I wish it was only me that had tested positive but it wasn’t, it was my entire family… but I am happy to tell you guys that our family is good and that we are at the other end of it, we are on the other side.

We are no longer contagious."We have got through Covid-19 stronger and healthier and I am counting my blessings as we all have to fight this thing."

The former professional wrestler added a caption to the video in which he gave a checklist to his fans in order for them to stay safe.

He wrote in list form: "My message to all of you around the [Planet Earth emoji].

"Stay disciplined. Boost your immune system. Commit to wellness. Wear your mask. Protect your family."Be strict about having people over your house or gatherings. Stay positive. And care for your fellow human beings.
"Stay healthy, my friends. #controlthecontrollables"

Creepy images show airway cells teeming with SARS-CoV-2

virus particles that are produced during an infection — indeed, infected cells can churn out virus particles by the thousands.

SARS CoV2

Camille Ehre, an assistant professor at University of North Carolina School of Medicine's Marsico Lung Institute, captured the images with a scanning electron microscope, a device that uses a focused beam of electrons to produce images.

To obtain the images, published Wednesday (Sept. 2) in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers first infected human airway cells with SARS-CoV-2 — the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 — in lab dishes, and then examined the cells after four days.

The noodle-like projections in the images are cilia, or hair-like structures on the surface of some airway cells. The tips of the cilia are attached to strands of net-like mucus, which is naturally present in the airway.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus particles look like teensy balls. At a high magnification, you can make out the spiky structures on the surfaces of the virus particles. Those crown-like spikes give the family of "coronaviruses" its name. ("Corona" means "crown" in Latin.) The virus uses those spikes to invade human cells.

The image also shows a high density of virus particles, or virions. An analysis of the concentration of virus in the sample suggests a "high number of virions produced and released per [airway] cell," Ehre wrote.Reference: Live Science:

Herman Cain's Twitter account claims coronavirus 'is not as deadly' as expected after he dies of the virus

Cain, the former businessman and presidential candidate, died a month ago from COVID-19. But his Twitter account and website have lived on through posts assumedly from his former staffers, including one early Sunday morning that doubted the deadliness of the virus.

A now-deleted tweet that reads as if it's from "THE Herman Cain" links to an article suggesting most COVID-19 patients died of an underlying condition along with the virus. It's captioned "It looks like the virus is not as deadly as the mainstream media first made it out to be."

Cain's account quickly deleted the tweet, but later shared another article with the caption "The summer 'second wave' really hasn't come close to the original spike, and it isn't showing signs it will."

That article came directly from Cain's website, in which the site's editor Dan Calabrese speculates Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden isn't considering how he'll campaign if the COVID-19 pandemic dies off by January. S

till, Calabrese does acknowledge "When you're getting more than 40,000 new cases every day, you can't say the pandemic is over," and that cases could easily rise again as the U.S. restarts crowded events.

Cain was hospitalized with COVID-19 not long after attending President Trump's rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was pictured without a mask on.

Coronavirus strain '10 times more infectious' discovered in Indonesia

Indonesia's total number of cases is currently 172,052, with 4,343 Covid-19 fatalities.  Indonesia's total number of cases is currently 172,052, with 4,343 Covid-19 fatalities.  A mutated coronavirus strain which is said to be 10 times more infectious has been found in Indonesia as cases in the country surge.

Indonesia reported 2,858 new infections on Sunday, below the previous day's record of 3,308 but above the past month's daily average, data by the health ministry showed. The D614G mutation of the virus - which has been described as 'infectious but milder' - has been found in genome sequencing data from samples collected by the institute, deputy director Herawati Sudoyo said,

Sudoyo added that more study is required to determined whether that was behind the recent rise in cases.

The D614G strain, which the World Health Organization said was identified in February and has been circulating in Europe and the Americas, has also been found in neighbouring Singapore and Malaysia.

Malaysia's director-general of health Noor Hisham Abdullah said the D614G strain detected there was 10 times more infectiouSyahrizal Syarif, an epidemiologist with the University of Indonesia, warned they must remain vigilant, as his modelling suggests the country may see its caseload rise to 500,000 by the end of the year.

'The situation is serious... Local transmission currently is out of control,' Syarif said, adding that the number of infections found daily could have been much higher if laboratories were able to process more specimens in a day. The capital Jakarta on Sunday saw a record daily increase of more than 1,000 cases, which the city government linked to a higher mobility rate during a mid-August independence celebration.

'There needs to be an awareness and a collective effort, be it from the government or the people, in addressing the rising number of cases,' Dwi Oktavia, an official at the Jakarta health agency, said, urging people to stay at home and wear a face mask when they must go out.

Paul Tambyah, senior consultant at the National University of Singapore and president-elect of the International Society of Infectious Diseases, said evidence suggests the rapid increase of the D614G mutation in some parts of the world has coincided with a drop in death rates.
